Shift is a feature film dealing with the issue of prison labor which was
aired nationally on PBS and other stations. It was inspired by an article I
wrote in the Village Voice, and I served as a consultant on the film to
director Kelly Anderson.
Several of my articles have been reprinted in text
books and anthologies, including one McGraw-Hill textbook on criminology, and another
on deviant behavior, this Greenhaven
Press anthology on prisons, and this Wadsworth textbook on criminal
justice.
I have been a featured speaker on several radio shows on NPR, BBC and other
networks, and have also spoken at several conferences, including the
national Investigative Reporters and Editors conference
and giving the keynote speech at a Canadian conference on alternative media.
